No hardwiring is needed. Ember operates on 120V power and comes with a 20A plug (NEMA 5-20P), so it needs a dedicated 20A outlet with no other appliances on the same circuit. Many homes already have one in the garage, laundry room or kitchen. If not, a licensed electrician can usually add one.
